Click below for information on this event.

Step into the quiet threshold of the Spring Equinox with a deeply restorative mini-retreat in the private woodland at Hever Castle. This moment in the natural year marks a subtle but powerful shift. When light and dark meet, and the land begins to lean toward growth again.

This half-day experience is an invitation to pause between what has been and what is beginning. Through gentle nature connection, guided stillness, and a deeply immersive Sound Bath, you’ll be supported to settle your nervous system, reflect on what you’re ready to carry forward, and root into the energy of the season ahead.

Places are limited and cost £65 per person, including food and beverages.
Gift vouchers are also available for this event — see below.

Join Tansy Dowman and Katie Hill for a soulful, grounding journey that weaves together Forest Bathing, gentle Qigong breathwork, seasonal reflection, and poetry. You’ll gather around the fire for warm soup, fresh bread, and sweet treats before surrendering into a deeply restorative sound bath — allowing the day, and your intentions, to settle and take root.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’ll begin with a gentle Qigong session — a simple, standing sequence designed to help you arrive in your body and settle into the present moment. There’s no choreography to learn and no “right” way to move. The invitation is to follow your own natural rhythm, allowing breath and movement to soften tension and create a sense of ease and flow.

From there, we’ll move into a guided Forest Bathing experience. You’ll be invited to slow down and connect with the woodland through simple sensory practices and quiet reflection. We’ll explore the Equinox as a moment of balance — light and dark, rest and growth — and notice where that same balance might be asking to be felt within you. The forest becomes the space-holder, and each person’s experience is uniquely their own.

We’ll then gather around the fire for a light campfire lunch, gentle meditation, poetry, and music, a moment to turn inward and reflect on what feels ready to be released, and what new seeds you’d like to tend as the season shifts.

The afternoon closes with a deeply restorative outdoor Sound Bath led by Sound Healer Katie Hill. You’ll be invited to rest in the landscape as sound moves through the body, allowing the day to settle, integrate, and gently take root.

There will be opportunities to share reflections if you wish, but nothing is expected; listening and simply being present is always enough.

Group sizes are kept small to preserve a sense of space and care. The woodland at Hever is flat, and the distance we cover is short, as the focus is on slowing down rather than walking far. This makes the experience accessible for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. No previous experience with Qigong, Forest Bathing, or Sound Healing is needed.

Practical note: The nearest toilets are a 10-minute walk away at the Golf Club, which is also our meeting point. You’ll have time to use the facilities before we enter the woodland, after that, we usually let the trees take care of things.

“I did not expect to have such a powerful experience with Forest Bathing. I enjoy being in Nature and well-being so was curious to try and it definitely delivered. I felt so incredibly calm and at peace. I completely lost track of time and got lost in the moment. Tansy was very friendly and professional and lead us on a magical journey. I will definitely be back!”

ABOUT KATIE HILL

Hello, I’m Katie — I guide people into deep rest and reconnection through sound.

I’ve been a holistic therapist for 20 years and stepped into the world of sound healing two years ago. I hold nature-based circles where we come together as one, allowing sound and the natural elements to work their magic. Gentle vibrations flow through the body, creating space for relaxation, connection, and deep inner harmony.

I feel truly honoured to be collaborating with Tansy and to bring the magical flair of sound to her soul-setting event

ABOUT SOUND BATHS

A sound bath surrounded by nature is a deeply immersive experience where healing sound frequencies blend with the natural rhythms of the earth. As crystal bowls, gongs, and gentle instruments resonate through open air, your body and mind are invited into a state of deep rest and renewal.

Key benefits of a nature-based sound bath include:

  • Deep relaxation and nervous system reset

  • Release of stress, tension, and emotional blockages

  • Enhanced mental clarity and inner calm

  • Improved sleep and energy flow

  • A stronger sense of grounding and connection to the earth

  • Gentle support for emotional and spiritual healing

How you will feel after:
You may leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more balanced—like something has quietly shifted within. Many people experience a sense of peace, openness, and deep presence, with a renewed connection to themselves and the natural world around them.

A true soul-setting moment, where sound, nature, and stillness meet.

About Hever

This retreat will take place at a private woodland location on the grounds of Hever Castle so is not in the main grounds. This beautiful secluded spot has a wonderful wild feel to it with a base camp circle surrounded by woodland and we will have exclusive use of the space for the duration of the session.

Please note: This area is a separate private space away from the main grounds of Hever and the cost to attend this workshop does not include access into the main castle grounds. We will however send you a link when you book with the option to add the entrance fee so you can visit the Castle and main grounds afterwards if you wish.
