A soulful midsummer immersion to soften, reconnect and bask in the slower light of summer
As midsummer begins to mellow and the golden evening light stretches across the woodland, this retreat invites you to step out of the noise of everyday life and into a gentler rhythm.
Summer can often feel full. Busy calendars. Constant movement. Pressure to make the most of everything.
But nature reminds us that fullness also needs spaciousness.
This Midsummer Evening Retreat is an invitation to slow down enough to actually feel the season — to breathe with it, move with it, and rest within it.
Together, we’ll spend an unhurried summer afternoon immersed in the woodland through Forest Bathing, gentle Qigong, fireside connection, seasonal reflection and a deeply restorative outdoor Sound Bath as the sun begins to lower through the trees.
A chance to regulate your nervous system, reconnect with yourself, and experience the quiet magic of being held by nature at dusk.
Places are limited and cost £75 per person, including food and beverages.
Gift vouchers are also available for this event — see below.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Join Tansy Dowman and Katie Hill for a calming and nourishing midsummer retreat designed to soothe the senses and restore inner balance.
We’ll begin the afternoon with gentle Qigong — simple flowing movements and breathwork to help you arrive fully in your body and settle into the present moment. There’s nothing to achieve and no experience needed. Just an invitation to soften tension, slow down and reconnect with your natural rhythm.
From there, we’ll move into a guided Forest Bathing experience through the woodland. Through sensory invitations, mindful pauses and moments of quiet reflection, you’ll be encouraged to slow down and notice the subtle beauty of the season around you.
Midsummer holds a unique energy. The fullness of life. The richness of light. The invitation to savour rather than rush.
This retreat is about allowing yourself to receive that feeling.
We’ll then gather around the fire circle for a relaxed homemade feast with fresh summer food, herbal teas and sweet treats, alongside gentle reflection, poetry and meditation as the day begins to soften toward evening.
As golden hour approaches, you’ll be invited to settle into a deeply immersive outdoor Sound Bath led by Sound Healer Katie Hill. Wrapped in blankets beneath the canopy of trees, you’ll rest as sound and nature weave together in the changing evening light — creating space for deep rest, integration and nervous system restoration.
The retreat closes with a gentle gratitude circle before we leave the woodland at dusk.
Practical note: The nearest toilets are a 10-minute walk away at the Golf Club, which is also our meeting point. You’ll have time to use the facilities before we enter the woodland, after that, we usually let the trees take care of things.
Watch this short video montage from mine and Katie’s previous collaboration. Our Spring Equinox Retreat was a deeply nourishing day filled with calm, connection and beautiful feedback from attendees, selling out well in advance. We’re so excited to come together again for this special Midsummer Evening Retreat and create the same sense of magic, restoration and seasonal immersion as we soften into the slower golden rhythm of summer.

“I did not expect to have such a powerful experience with Forest Bathing. I enjoy being in Nature and well-being so was curious to try and it definitely delivered. I felt so incredibly calm and at peace. I completely lost track of time and got lost in the moment. Tansy was very friendly and professional and lead us on a magical journey. I will definitely be back!”

ABOUT KATIE HILL
Hello, I’m Katie — I guide people into deep rest and reconnection through sound.
I’ve been a holistic therapist for 20 years and stepped into the world of sound healing two years ago. I hold nature-based circles where we come together as one, allowing sound and the natural elements to work their magic. Gentle vibrations flow through the body, creating space for relaxation, connection, and deep inner harmony.
I feel truly honoured to be collaborating with Tansy and to bring the magical flair of sound to her soul-setting event
ABOUT SOUND BATHS
A sound bath surrounded by nature is a deeply immersive experience where healing sound frequencies blend with the natural rhythms of the earth. As crystal bowls, gongs, and gentle instruments resonate through open air, your body and mind are invited into a state of deep rest and renewal.
Key benefits of a nature-based sound bath include:
Deep relaxation and nervous system reset
Release of stress, tension, and emotional blockages
Enhanced mental clarity and inner calm
Improved sleep and energy flow
A stronger sense of grounding and connection to the earth
Gentle support for emotional and spiritual healing
How you will feel after:
You may leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more balanced—like something has quietly shifted within. Many people experience a sense of peace, openness, and deep presence, with a renewed connection to themselves and the natural world around them.
A true soul-setting moment, where sound, nature, and stillness meet.
