SHIFTING THE DYNAMIC ON WALKS WITH FRIENDS TO BOOST YOUR WELLBEING

Do you love walking with friends?

A good walk and talk with friends can be a great tonic but it's all too easy to remain in the headspace and not give the body any attention or create space to breathe and be. Here are a few tips to consider on your next walk with a friend to invite in a deeper sense of wellbeing...

1. Share how you both feel at the start and do a little check in with your mind and body. Set an intention of how you want to feel at the end of the walk.

2. Acknowledge the space you are stepping into. Take a moment to breathe and observe before you launch into the chatting and catching up.

3. As you walk and talk, keep an awareness of your environment and if you see anything interesting gently pause the conversation to point it out and then pick up the conversation again.

4. Bring a flask and herbal teabags and sonething to sit on. Spend 10-15 mins at the end just sitting with a cuppa nestled in Nature. Sitting on the ground is grounding and creates a moment of tranquillity as you are able to look around you and soak up the Nature and energy around you.

5. At the end, do another check in. Notice how you feel and offer some gratitude to Nature and each other for the experience.

Love the photo above of me and my gorgeous Sister of the Wild Justine taking a long-overdue friendship walk in Staffhurst Wood at the weekend. Catching up while also Bathing in the beauty of Nature and having a cuppa under a yew tree where an inquisitive Robin hopped around us and offered us that lovely sense of connection.

Get in touch with your wild sister and plan a walk that will nourish you both in connection and wellbeing or alternatively you can book a 1:1 Wellbeing Walk with me.
