The Power of Private Forest Bathing

The words forest bathing often spark a curious look. “Do I need to bring a swimsuit?” someone asked me once with a grin. The name is beautifully misleading. There’s no actual bathing involved, and you don’t even need a forest either!

What you do need, and what private forest bathing offers,  is space. A little pocket of time where the outside world can pause, and your own world can breathe.

Why Private Sessions?

People often take part in forest bathing in groups, and that can be beautiful. But sometimes what’s needed is something more personal, whether it's just you, or you bring a friend, partner, your mum, or a small group.

Private sessions (for 1–8 people) allow for that. They’re not about talking through your worries or achieving a big transformation. They're about being met exactly as you are, and letting nature do the holding.

A guided invitation to slow down and reconnect. These sessions are adaptable. We don’t need a remote woodland, and you don’t need to call yourself “outdoorsy.”

You just need to show up as you are.

Client Story

Sophie came straight from work, unsure what she’d signed up for, just that she needed something. At first, she talked about her job, the emails, the relentlessness of it all.

But slowly, her pace shifted. She stopped to notice a robin, the softness of the path, the wind in the trees. She crouched to look at moss on a fallen branch. By the end, we sat quietly under a tree. She exhaled and said, “I’m surprised I actually managed to switch off.”

Now, she books a session when that buzz begins to build again. For her, it’s about space, not fixing, just softening.

Group Story

Another time, I guided three friends who hadn’t seen each other in a while. At first, there was laughter and chatter, but gradually, they moved into a quieter rhythm. By the end, they said it was exactly what they hadn’t realised they needed: stillness, connection, and rest, but while being together.

Common Questions About Private Forest Bathing

Do I have to talk?
Not at all. You’re welcome to share how you’re feeling, but silence is just as welcome. I’m here to hold space, not to guide a conversation.

Is it like therapy?
It’s therapeutic, yes, but not therapy. There’s no diagnosis, no deep dive into your story. Instead, it’s about connection: to yourself, to nature, and to the present moment.

What if I don’t have a forest near me?
No problem. I offer sessions in Kent and know local woodlands that provide a peaceful, nourishing backdrop for this work.

What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes for the weather, and a willingness to slow down. That’s it.

Why It Matters
Private forest bathing isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering you were never broken. It offers the kind of rest that doesn’t come from sleep, but from being seen, and being allowed to just be.

You don’t need a reason. You don’t need to be in crisis. You might just feel a quiet longing for something slower, something real. That’s enough.

Want Something Just for You?
I also offer 1:1 wellbeing walks, a shorter, 90-minute version of forest bathing for those who want more individual support. These sessions are perfect if you’re gently frazzled, curious, or ready to feel the ground under your feet again.

Let’s meet where the trees do the talking.
